Experience counts

I am currently a communications coordinator at Special Olympics BC.
I am also a freelance graphic artist/photographer and communications specialist.
From 2015 to 2016 I worked as the lead photographer and sports editor for the Maple Ridge News.
Since graduating from the journalism program at Durham College in Ontario in 1998, I have been working in the media as an award-winning photographer and writer for Black Press.
For six-plus years I was a provincial and national award-winning photographer and reporter at The Morning Star, in Vernon, B.C. In addition, I served as a regular freelancer for The Province and Canadian Press Images.
In the fall of 2006 I left to become the communications manager at Silver Star Mountain Resort. In my time at Silver Star I was responsible for increasing the ski resort's media profile while helping to usher it into the digital age. In addition I was responsible for the vast majority of the graphic projects, including the production of its summer and winter brochures and rack cards.
I returned to journalism in the spring of 2012 when I moved to the Lower Mainland, working as a freelancer for Black Press in Maple Ridge, Abbotsford, Mission, and Coquitlam.
At Silver Star, I was communications manager, social media manager, on-resort photographer, and freelancer from 2006 to 2014.
